The bridge toll for the Danube Bridge - Ruse is paid online only through the E-Portal of the Customs Agency
The Bulgarian Customs Agency informs the public that a fake website for “paying” the bridge toll has been identified. The Agency would like to emphasize that online payment for crossing the Danube Bridge in the Ruse–Giurgiu direction is available only through its official E-Portal at: https://ep.customs.bg/eportal/public/index?pageId=41&isActive=id6 or via the direct link to the virtual POS terminal: https://virtpos.customs.bg/vpos.
The toll is set by law and is the same regardless of the payment method – 2 euros.
Any other websites claiming to offer this service should be treated as fraudulent. Following a case in which a Romanian citizen made a payment to an unauthorized website, the Bulgarian Customs Agency has promptly notified the relevant authorities.
The bridge toll is administered by the Bulgarian Customs Agency when crossing the Danube Bridge Ruse–Giurgiu in the outbound direction from Bulgaria, in accordance with national legislation. In the opposite direction – from Romania to Bulgaria – the toll is collected by the Romanian authorities.
Since the summer of 2024, the toll can also be paid online by all passenger cars leaving Bulgaria (up to 8+1 seats), regardless of their country of registration. Payment on-site, either in cash or by card, remains available and continues to be the preferred option for most travelers.
