Strong Start to the Year for Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce

The Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce began 2025 with a strong commitment to expanding the community right from its first event in late January – a networking cocktail for partners and companies. The official guests shared their expectations for the year and expressed their gratitude to BRCC for developing bilateral business relationships.
Participants at the event got acquainted with the new Executive Director Iliyana Ilieva. On her part, the long-time leader and one of the founders of the organization – Eleonora Ivanova – will continue to serve on the Board of the BRCC managing the projects with external funding that the Chamber implements.
Тhis change in leadership is part of BRCC's strategy to strengthen its structure and ensure sustainable development of bilateral trade relations between Bulgaria and Romania.
Over more than 20 years of working on both markets, the Chamber has earned the trust of Bulgarian and Romanian companies and is a key factor for their success on the neighboring market. According to official data, Romania is the second largest trading partner of Bulgaria, with a trade volume exceeding 8 billion leva for the period January – July 2024.
BRCC management team met the Mayor of Ruse Municipality Pencho Milkov. They discussed building on the successful partnership with the local administration, and the Chairman of the Managing Board of BRCC Victor Gugushevs presented the Chamber's business event calendar for 2025.
During the two-day visit of the BRCC management team in Ruse, Chairman Victor Gugushev also met with Ruse Metropolitan Naum, where they discussed opportunities to support the Bulgarian Orthodox community in Romania, the role of corporate social responsibility and charity, as well as current societal issues.
The Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) unites over 130 companies from Bulgaria and Romania. The ambition of the organization is to grow and attract even more Romanian companies to develop businesses south of the Danube.
