A Year of Growth, New Partnerships and Strengthened Regional Influence
The Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC) reported sustained growth and an increasing role as a key driver in the development of economic relations between Bulgaria and Romania for the period June 2025 - May 2026. This was highlighted in the organisation’s annual activity report, presented during the General Assembly.
As of May 2026, BRCC brings together 164 active companies from both sides of the Danube, with 62 new members joining over the past 12 months alone. These include leading companies from the construction, IT, financial services, hospitality, manufacturing, and trade sectors.
Over the past year, the BRCC team organised 11 events with more than 900 participants and took part in 8 partner initiatives, including business forums, B2B meetings, sector conferences, and joint events with other bilateral chambers. Beyond events, BRCC continues to actively support businesses through market analyses, consultancy services, partner matchmaking, administrative assistance, and company screenings.
Among the key topics actively advocated by the Chamber are infrastructure connectivity and the need to improve transport links between Bulgaria and Romania. BRCC continues to be a recognised voice of the business community in the cross-border region and an active participant in institutional dialogue.
In the project domain, two international projects were completed during the period, while six more are currently under implementation. These cover topics such as biodiversity in the Danube region, energy efficiency, AR/VR technologies, education, Industry 4.0, and social policies.
An additional public initiative of the Chamber is its support for the construction of a bust monument of Stefan Karadzha in Tulcea, Romania. At the initiative of the Bulgarian Embassy in Bucharest, BRCC opened a dedicated donation account to support its construction.
During the General Assembly, the composition of the BRCC Board of Directors was renewed. Five professionals joined the board: Biliana Georgieva – founder of Lider.bg, Sashka Sashova – Chief Marketing Officer at PPS, Milen Marinov – owner of Top Rent-a-Car, Plamen Penev – Romania Director at Kuehne+Nagel, and Nikolay Chernev – Managing Director of Mussalla Insurance Broker. Pantelis Papadopoulos, Managing Director of Eurofast Bulgaria, joined the BRCC Supervisory Board.
