BRCC business delegation in Ploiești: new partnerships and a Memorandum of Cooperation
On Thursday, 24 September, the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a Bulgarian-Romanian business forum. The Bulgarian delegation was led by Victor Gugushev, Chairman of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce.
The forum aimed to promote business relations between Bulgaria and Romania and provide companies from both countries with an opportunity to meet and discuss specific opportunities for cooperation.
“The rapprochement between the two countries also has a clear economic dimension: in just ten years, between 2015 and 2025, trade between the two countries increased from EUR 3.68 billion to EUR 10.27 billion, which represents an almost threefold increase. This trend continues: during the first five months of 2026, trade reached EUR 4.78 billion, an increase of almost 12% compared with the same period of the previous year. Bulgaria is already among Romania’s main trading partners, ranking fifth in terms of exports and sixth in terms of imports,” said Marius Marinescu, President of the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He added that there are currently more than 3,300 companies with Bulgarian participation in Romania, with share capital exceeding EUR 200 million.
Marius Marinescu emphasized the need for even closer economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the motto “Stronger Together”.
“This event is very important to us because Romania is Bulgaria’s second partner, while Bulgaria ranks fifth in Romania’s foreign trade,” said Victor Gugushev, Chairman of the BRCC. He introduced the participants in the Bulgarian delegation, which included representatives of nearly 40 companies from various sectors, ranging from tourism and industrial manufacturing to transport and logistics, consulting services, agro-industry and high technologies.
Sashka Sashova, Member of the BRCC Board, presented the Chamber’s activities and the services it offers to companies from Bulgaria and Romania.
The main topics of the forum included economic relations and connectivity between the two countries. Many representatives of the local business community also took part in the meeting, providing an opportunity for a direct exchange of ideas and discussions on future partnerships.
The programme continued with networking and bilateral B2B meetings, during which Bulgarian and Romanian companies discussed opportunities for cooperation. Following the forum, the Bulgarian delegation visited the headquarters of BORUSAN PIPE, a global pipe manufacturer.
At the end of the meeting, Marius Marinescu and Victor Gugushev signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce.
The BRCC business delegation was made possible thanks to the support of Top Rent A Car, the organization’s mobility partner.
