The government and bilateral chambers of commerce join forces to promote Bulgaria as an investment destination
BRCC Chairman Victor Gugushev, together with representatives of other employers' organizations and bilateral chambers of commerce, met with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Alexander Pulev and his deputies at the Ministry of Economy, Investment and Industry, Krasimir Yakimov and Mihaela Karadimova.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Pulev outlined the government's key priorities for improving Bulgaria's investment environment, attracting strategic investors, and building a more effective partnership between the public and private sectors. He also announced the establishment of an Investment Promotion Coordination Council, which will coordinate the work of the relevant institutions involved in the implementation of strategic investment projects. The Council brings together all ministries, agencies, and public institutions with responsibilities related to the investment process.
Minister Pulev further announced that a completely new Public-Private Partnerships Act is currently being drafted to provide a modern, transparent, and predictable framework for the implementation of large-scale investment projects. According to him, the proposed legislation is being developed following an in-depth review of successful European models and in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Representatives of the bilateral chambers of commerce reaffirmed their commitment to serving as an active partner to the government in its efforts to enhance Bulgaria's investment climate, promote the country as an attractive investment destination, and attract a greater number of strategic investments.
