European practices for a better work-life balance
The Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce took part in an international training program focused on building a more inclusive, supportive, and balanced working environment. The training is part of the activities under the CÚRAM project, in which the Chamber is a partner.
Over three days (April 21–23) in Ostrava, Czech Republic, Vladimir Petkov and Gergana Ilieva actively participated in various working groups, where practical case studies were discussed on creating a more supportive work environment for working parents, as well as for employees who provide care for family members.
A key focus of the discussions was the role of companies in supporting both parents raising children and employees engaged in caregiving responsibilities at home.
During the training, Vladimir Petkov presented key aspects of European legislation related to the protection of employees’ rights. Participants also explored practical examples of balancing professional and personal life, opportunities for women to combine career, family responsibilities, and personal life, as well as different working time models.
The next phase of the CÚRAM project foresees strengthening cooperation between partners – BRCC, Czechia, Mindshift, Greece, Italy, and Ireland – by organizing seminars for HR managers, employers, and employees across Europe.
Our main goal is to raise awareness of family-friendly workplace practices, employees’ rights, and to promote the resources developed under the CÚRAM project.
