Key decisions from the General Assembly of the members of BRCC.
On May 30, a General Assembly of the members of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took place in Sofia. In the presence of the Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria, H.E. Brândușa Predescu, the Economic Counselor at the Embassy of Romania, Radu Moldovan, and the Head of STEV Romania, Ivaylo Marinov, the organization's leadership reviewed its achievements over the last eight months and outlined its ambitions for growth.
Here is what we have accomplished since the last General Assembly in September 2023:
- We increased the number of companies in the organization with 38 new companies from Bulgaria and Romania, bringing our "family" to 112 companies. We are happy that over 90% of them have maintained their membership for many years.
- We provided services to member companies and external clients, focusing on market research, sector analyses, and identifying suitable partners in the other market. We assisted dozens of Bulgarian companies in participating in trade shows in Romania.
- We held 11 events, both independently and in partnership with other organizations (Belgian-Luxembourg-Romanian-Moldovan Chamber, Business Club Belgium-Bulgaria-Luxembourg, OIC-Ruse, eCommerce Academy, Digital4, etc.), covering topics beneficial to companies from both countries. We proudly highlight:
- The Gala evening marking 20 years since the establishment of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
- The first-ever business breakfast for the leaders of the bilateral chambers in Bulgaria;
- Receptions at both embassies – Bulgaria in Romania and Romania in Bulgaria;
- The Easter treasure hunt through the Bulgarian-Romanian Children's Fund.
- Language courses in Romanian continued, and we conducted two of them for different proficiency levels in the past months.
What’s next:
We are turning a new page in the history of our organization – with a new name, an expanded Board of Directors, and even greater ambitions.
At the General Assembly of the members of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the new name of the organization was approved: Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce. The Board of Directors has been expanded with three more professionals who have proven themselves in their fields: Eleonora Ivanova, Ivelina Lambova, and Kiril Ivanov. The ambassadors of Bulgaria to Romania and Romania to Bulgaria will become honorary members of the Board of Directors with advisory votes. We have started a rebranding process. We are working on a new website and a new visual identity. We are developing new services for the companies that are members of the organization.
We are stepping up to a new level, supporting bilateral business relations between Bulgaria and Romania.
