The fintech sector in Bulgaria and Romania is covered in a detailed report

The first-ever report analyzing and presenting the current state of the fintech sector in Romania and Bulgaria is now available.

Over the past five years, the fintech ecosystems in both markets have experienced rapid development, and the accumulated information is open for in-depth research and study. The document follows a similar methodology and structure used in the 2022 Romanian fintech report and the 2022 Bulgarian financial technologies report. It also incorporates information from previous Romanian and Bulgarian reports to ensure consistency and comparability.

The report includes an analysis of the sector's development, which has been one of the driving forces behind the adoption of legislation related to artificial intelligence at the EU level.

The report is divided into several sections, providing an overview of the current state of the fintech sectors in Bulgaria and Romania, focusing on changes in the legal field and the characteristics of the local FinTech ecosystems. It also presents the results of a survey conducted in the summer and fall of 2023 in both countries.
